Army Wives Artwork Takes Center Stage During 4th Awadh Art Festival

New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) The artworks of army officers wives became the center of attraction at the 4th edition of the art fair organized by AAF (awadh art festival) which opened on February 21 at India Habitat Center visual art gallery. About 86 artists from all over the country present their works and among them stand the 14 artists who are the wives of army officers with their exclusive works. Their group ‘The Olive Expressions’ is participating for the first time since its inception in September 2021. All 14 artists share a common platform although unique in their own way. “The artworks created by them are inspired by the various environments they have stayed in from time to time. Their work is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also very absorbing, balanced and vibrant,” he said. “With the strong support of the AWWA (Army Wives Welfare Association), one of the nation’s largest NGOs, the group took its first flight with this exhibit,” the statement said. The artworks of Artists Army Wives have been widely appreciated by eminent personalities like Sharon Lewis, Dr. Aruna Vasudev, Shovna Narayan, art lovers and art critics. The farewell function will be held on February 28, where AWWA President Veena Naravane will congratulate all the artists participating in the ongoing art fair. This is the fifth exhibition of The Olive Expressions group which started with 6 artists, today there are 75 creative minds that are part of the group. This group was formed with the purpose of creating opportunities, learning and helping each other and growing together in the beautiful journey of Art.
