Beastars Creator Celebrates Maneskin With Special Art

Beastars has been able to carve out a unique fan base thanks in part to its lovable characters who exist in an anthropomorphic world that’s anything but “cute.” As Legosi and his friends continue to wrestle with a murder mystery plaguing the halls of their school, Netflix hints that the final version will be released in 2024. In the meantime, Beastars creator Paru Itagaki has shared the crossover art between his popular franchise and the Italian rock band known as Maneskin.

beastars’ The manga ended in 2020, with Itagaki’s anime adaptation arriving three years later in 2019. While the anime franchise obviously features characters that fall somewhere between animal and human, the series remains deadly serious as the Legosi wolf has an unexpected relationship with the rabbit. Haru while trying to find out who among his classmates is picking on innocent bystanders.

Maneskin took to his official Twitter account to share the new artwork created by beastars’ mangaka, Paru Itagaki, as well as a new video that shows Paru Itagaki wearing a giant chicken head to help sell the in-universe aesthetic that focuses on teenagers struggling in a world of predator and prey:

The official description of the anthropomorphic murder mystery reads as such, for those who might not have had the opportunity to dive headfirst into Beastars:

“In a high school where students are literally divided into predator and prey, friendships keep the fragile peace alive. Who among them will become a Beastars – a hero destined to lead in a society naturally plagued by mistrust? One night at Cherryton Academy, a herbivorous student is brutally murdered. Among the members of the Drama Club, the herbivores’ suspicions naturally turn towards their carnivorous classmates… The main suspect? Legoshi gray wolf. But he wouldn’t hurt a fly. Or would he? Will Dwarf Rabbit Haru bring out the beast in him? Or is his feelings for her…something else?”

An official release date for the final season has yet to be released by Netflix, but with its release window arriving in 2024, Legosi fans will be waiting a while to see how. Beastars comes to an end.
