Dozens of new pieces of public art to animate Casper as part of 2021 “Art for the Trails”

CASPER, Wyo.– Approximately 25 pieces of public art will be installed along the Platte River Trail near the Tate Pumphouse and at Art 321 as part of the 2021 “Art for the Trails, A Public Art Market” event. .

Platte River Trails Trust and Art 321 are teaming up for the second year of the event, which aims to “serve as a showcase of our local artistry” and “foster the sense of community pride and vision that we continually strive to cultivate”.

The artworks will be up for sale, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Platter River Trails Trust and Art 321. Judges will also select three winning artworks who will receive cash prizes.

Submissions for this year’s “Art for the Trails” were announced on Friday:

The installations will be exhibited from June 29. Vernissages will follow in July.

The Art 321 Opening Reception will be held on Thursday, July 1 Casper Art Walk.

The Tate Pumphouse Opening Reception will take place from 5pm on Friday July 2 with live music from ‘Mastermind of Monkey’ as well as food trucks, beer and guided art walks to see and discuss the scheduled work.

The work will remain on display until Thursday, August 6, Casper Art Walk, when the prizes will be awarded by the selection committee. There will also be awards by popular vote from Art Walk participants.
