Junji Ito rings in the New Year with twisted new art

Junji Ito’s work as a manga artist has produced some of the scariest stories published in the fiction world, with the mangaka featuring terrifying creatures and storylines that have caused many nightmares over the decades. Now, to help celebrate the New Year and celebrate “the year of the tiger” according to the Chinese zodiac, Ito has revealed new works of art that connects his sense of horror with his love of felines.

Junji Ito has made some of the scariest stories not only in manga, but in fiction. While the mangaka has woven some truly terrifying stories, he also has a deep love for cats, having created a story called “Junji Ito’s Cat Diary: Yon & Mu”, an autobiographical story that tells the events of life. real Ito and his partner with cats and how the artist developed a fondness for felines. While this story hasn’t received an anime adaptation, and probably won’t be in the near future, it does show the versatility of Ito’s work as he’s able to move from the art of horror to adorable art.

While Uzumaki is the next big anime adaptation for Junji Ito, there have been rumors that a new animated series is in the works by the Horror Master, although details on this potential adaptation are scarce at this point. In recent years, Ito’s works have continued to gain popularity, as Junji continues to create both short stories and long series to help the horrific ideas in his head get to the page.
