Kim Kardashian West Shows Her Home and Shows North’s Art

Kim Kardashian West is giving fans a peek inside her Calabasas home with some of her favorite things.

As part of Vogue magazine’s “Objects of Affection” series on YouTube, Kardashian West showed viewers some of her most prized possessions, including special pieces made by her daughter, North West. High on her list of favorite things in her house was a series of paintings the 8-year-old has worked on over the years.

“She’s a very, very good artist and loves to paint,” Kardashian West said of her eldest daughter.

One piece of art, which the mother-of-four said North had painted two years before, was a stunning landscape of a snow-capped mountain, a bright lake, alongside some greenery in the foreground.

Kardashian West explained that sometimes her daughter creates paintings just for her, including a green-toned painting of a wolf and a portrait of their bearded dragon, Speed, which belonged to her friend before she joined the Kardashian family.

Besides his paintings, North also experimented with other artistic mediums, including charcoal drawing. Kardashian West posted a muted drawing of a distorted human face with blank eyes in the center of the paper surrounded by a grayscale gradient chasm.

“North recently stayed home and had COVID, so it was her drawing that she did in her bedroom,” Kardashian West explained. “He’s a charcoal. Maybe it was just his emo mood.”

The SKIMS founder is no stranger to a minimal, neutral aesthetic, though there’s a method to her madness.

“Everything in my house is really minimal. I find there’s so much chaos in the world, that when I come home I want it to be really quiet and I want everything to be soothing,” Kardashian said. West about his house.

That’s not to say there isn’t clutter or non-neutral aesthetics in the rest of her home. The entrepreneur clarified, adding, “I have the playroom full of clutter. Bedrooms – one is pink, one is purple, one is blue, one is dinosaurs. Each child can have their own style and tastes in their room and have fun. But in the main house I really like the quiet and surprisingly four kids didn’t spoil my homemade cream.

Kardashian West shares four children with Ye, formerly known as Kanye West: North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2. After seven years of marriage, she filed for divorce in February 2021.

Over the years, the former couple’s home has become a topic of conversation on the internet, especially their particular sinks. After appearing in Vogue’s “73 Questions” series, people kept asking about her sinks which looked completely flat, with no basin for water to flow into and then drain out of.

“The sink is actually slightly tilted down,” Kardashian West explained on Instagram after the confusion spread across the internet. “There is a slot for water. You can put it at the pressure you want and without a backsplash.
