New Silent Hill game in the works by KONAMI

Fans were hoping to see previews of a new episode of the Silent Hill franchise but things had been stale for most of the year. But it looks like the fandom’s luck might just change. You wonder why ? Find out in today’s news.

New game Silent Hill: The Short Message in development

That was a few months ago when fans were going crazy over allegedly leaked concept art speculating that the next survival horror title was in the works by KONAMI. It was said before that KONAMI is still working on several new installments for the Silent Hill franchise but these supposed rumors didn’t imply anything of note for the most part.

But it looks like a new iteration of the Silent Hill series might just be in the works. More in Korea, Game Evaluation and Administration Committee has set the rating for an unannounced title that bears the name “Silent Hill: The Short Message”. No platform has yet been specified but we can hope for a computer and console release with an exclusive thrown at the door.

It was Gematsu which stated that the publisher of the game is listed as

which is a publishing house that regularly lists games for Konami, especially in Korea. Let’s take Konami’s free-to-play football title as an example, eFootball 2023 which was also published by UNIANA.

The rating for the upcoming survival horror title may have something to do with the recent spate of leaks that have occurred over the past few months. And I hope the game will be released in the future planned for a 2024 or 2025 release date. But take this speculation with a grain of salt.

It is quite clear from the information above that Konami is indeed developing a Silent Hill title with many new Silent Hill games planned for future releases.

So what do you think of the upcoming Silent Hill: The Short Message? When will it come out? We’re hoping to see another installment of the franchise soon enough due to the drought of franchise releases, but we’d also love to hear your views in the comments below.
