Sledgehammer addresses CoD Vanguard visibility and audio issues

Sledgehammer Games will further address visibility issues ahead of the upcoming Call of Duty Vanguard beta window, while also improving audio issues that arise.

After the first beta of Call of Duty Vanguard, Sledgehammer Games (SHG) received a ton of feedback on the quality of the graphics which could sometimes hamper visibility in the game. Effects like blood on the screen when shooting damage was a big concern among players.

While Sledgehammer has tried to improve the situation in previous Vanguard beta patch updates, they will soon be addressing visual and audio issues.

“We are aware that there is a significant amount of discussion around player visibility and audio mixing,” the company said. “Stay tuned as we’ll cover some of our updates planned for later this week.”

There were a lot of complaints during the beta of Vanguard, as the gameplay generally got frustrating after a big fight. The screen would fill with blood, making the rest of the scene a little murky.

That’s outside of the concerns about Vanguard’s graphics, which some people have likened to the kind of visuals we’d get from the Nintendo DS.

The only thing more important than seeing where your opponents are is being able to hear their sound queues. This was another area of ​​concern during the beta, as footsteps and other lineups were sometimes missing.

This would cause opponents to appear seemingly out of nowhere without warning, causing a ton of confusion in matches.

But the studio behind Vanguard has announced that it will be looking into audio mixing to improve sound quality.

Sledgehammer will be announcing more updates on both fronts next week, which will hopefully provide more solutions to emerging issues.
